New constructed Condos in Barrie – Yonge Station Community

blog yonge stationThe Barrie Condo team; a group of Real Estate professionals in Barrie are very familiar with all of the different residential neighbourhoods.

When Our broker, Matthew Klonowski bought his first home 8 years ago, he decided that the East End was the area that best met his family lifestyle. He simply loved everything about it!
“When you live in area for a while, you notice small things that people who are not familiar with an area simply don’t notice. New retailers, new subdivisions, another house under renovation; a more diversified neighbourhood. Gladly all the changes are positive” said Matthew.

Last year, the new construction of The Yonge Station Community by Pratt Homes caught the attention of many condo hunters. The community is located on Yonge Street and Madelaine drive in Barrie. It consists of condos, townhomes and 8-plexes.

The Yonge Station community is not only located in one of the best spots in the city; minutes away from the GO station, Zehrs grocery store, banks, LCBO and Beer Store, a variety of restaurants, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, schools, and all other amenities to ease your busy lifestyle; it also features a landmark art from internationally renowned artist Ron Baird, creator of Barrie’s famous Spirit Catcher.

As this location might attract you; we always like to say the “Home” is what you make of it, but in the Barrie Condo market “home” means there are some stuff you should think about before committing to a newly constructed condo:

1- Site unseen. If you’re looking at a newly constructed condo, or one that’s still in the planning stages, there are many “unknowns” that you should protect yourself from. It’s a really good idea to act with representation, and not to sign anything unless you are confident that you have all the facts.

2-Invest some time to compare Old Vs New. In the Barrie Condo market; size, layout, amenities packages of the newly constructed condo can work for first time condo buyers but not ideal for downsizers; therefore buying an older building have some great benefits as well.

3-Long term thinking. According to statistics Canada, Barrie is one of the safest places to live in the country with a 100,000-plus population, and the Real Estate Investment Network ranks Barrie Ontario’s third-best place to invest. When buying a condo in Barrie; keep in mind that some of them will hold and increase in value more than others.

Now that you are considering moving up North. Take the time to compare the different great condos that Barrie has to offer. The Barrie condo team can help you make the right decision; Keep in mind that your reason for buying should direct the condo you choose. Perhaps; it’s your first real estate investment and the first home you’ve owned; downsizing; strictly an investment and managed for the rental income; whatever your need is; the point here is the Barrie Condo Team can guide your thought the right path.
